Holographic Portraits Painted on Delicate Layers of Fabric and Netting

Thai artist Uttaporn Nimmalaikaew paints multiple layers of canvas, thread, fabric, and netting to create stunning works of three-dimensional art. Delicate and utterly unique, the paintings resemble shimmering holograms that subtly shift and transform when viewed from different angles.

A pensive, melancholy figure is at the center of each mixed media piece. Rendered in impressively realistic detail on the thin screens of mesh, the translucent subjects appear ethereal and ghostly. Their eyes lowered as if lost in thought, the haunting figures reflect on life, death, and other concepts inspired by Buddhist philosophy.
