Artistic Teacher Captivates Students with His Sprawling Chalkboard Masterpieces

Teacher Hirotaka Hamasaki captivates his young students by drawing sprawling masterpieces on the blackboard. Rather than writing notes or homework assignments, he emulates artworks featuring historically-significant imagery as well as contemporary pieces. Using everyday chalk and a well-worn eraser, Hamasaki references iconic paintings like Leonardo da Vinciโ€™s Last Supper as well as pop culture-inspired works like Disneyโ€™s The Little Mermaid. Hamasakiโ€™s ability to faithfully reproduce several types of artistic styles is awe-inspiring.

Complex Web of Red Thread Swarms Above Stranded Boats as a Meditation on Fate

Artist Chiharu Shiota is known for her intricate, immersive installations that are meditations on the human brain and memory. Last year, she illustrated this idea by collecting 50,000 keys and stringing them along thread that engulfed the ceiling of a gallery. In a similarly awe-inspiring fashion, Shiota has created Uncertain Journey, a site-specific exhibition in which a dense web of scarlet-colored yarn swarms above stranded skeletal boats.

Incredibly Cute Portraits of Baby Animals Dressed Like Humans

Barcelona-based photographer Yago Partal has expanded his funny photo series titled Zoo Portraits to include one of our favorite internet phenomenons: baby animals. Partal humorously arranges animal heads on fully-dressed human bodies to showcase each unique animal's characteristics and personality types. The series includes a range of lovable subjects, from a soft, white lamb in a crisp, chef's uniform to a professorial Tasmanian Devil in a blazer and bowtie. The clothes the animals wear reveal their other wild side.
