Embroidered Book Covers

For two months, Illustrator and cartoonist Jillian Tamaki worked on a very cool project with Penguin Classics. She hand embroidered three literary classics in her signature style! (The covers actually wrap around and include french flaps.) Valencia, Spain-based photographer Luis Beltran just sent us word that he's just launched a new website that's chock full of his most beautiful work. Punk Rock Japanese Pop Art

Japanese artist Shohei Otomo (aka Hakuchi) shows us that his motherland has a rockin' pop culture like no other. Using simple ballpoint pen, he mixes old and new school images with his references to the Samurai, Geisha girls, and the Yakuza. Above all else, one thing is certain, Otomo does not hold anything back with these extremely detailed illustrations.

Incredibly Detailed Animal Illustrations

Iain Macarthur is an artist from Swindon, United Kingdom who, at the young age of eight, became an art fanatic through cartoon shows and comic books. The Batman series started his obsession with drawing fantasy characters and when he grew older, his style matured to include more detailed illustrations of realistic figures and faces. Cartoons still inspire him, as well as lighting, people's facial expressions, eyes and different forms of patterns and shapes.
