New Rainbow Hotel in Palm Springs

Check in to the new Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs and see if it doesn't banish your blues! Architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat used 12 vibrant tones found in wildflowers indigenous to the area all around the hotel. From balconies and patios to the lobby and guestrooms, no space has been spared! The color set follows the light spectrum, so it's as close as you'll get to staying inside a rainbow.

Ultimate Sustainable Nomadic Home

Designed by Berlin-based Studio Aisslinger, this incredibly attractive modular home was created almost 4,000 ft above sea level. Located near Bozen in Northern Italy, it features magnificent views of the Dolomite mountains, yet can be easily taken apart and rebuilt in a new location. This makes the structure perfect for the travelling nomad, all while leaving a minimal CO2 footprint.

Artificial Sea Trees Restore Environment

Waterstudio.NL is an architecture firm that specializes in creating projects that are on or near water. One of their newest projects is a towering multilayered structure called the Sea Tree. In an effort to bring back healthy environments to large cities, these structures would be built in the rivers, lakes, or harbors that often border large metropolises and house not only sea life but also various birds, insects, and plant life.

Mondrian SoHo: Beauty and the Beast-Inspired NY Hotel

On my recent trip to New York, I had the pleasure of staying at one of Morgan Hotel Group's newest hotels and the third Mondrian hotel to date, Mondrian SoHo. Make no mistake, this beautiful hotel, which opened in February 2011, is a destination in and of itself with its luxurious and refined style. The moment you walk through their lit up garden hallway, you'll feel like you're being whisked away into a secret world.
