Realistic Succulents and Blooming Flowers Meticulously Crafted From Clay

Nature-loving, New York-based artist Owen Mann meticulously handcrafts lifelike plants out of clay. Cleverly known as Floramics, his series of floral ceramics captures the intricate patterns and one-of-a-kind aesthetic of succulents and blossoming blooms. Mann, a self-taught sculptor, dedicates his time to creating nature-inspired pieces that appear to have been picked from a colorful flowerbed. He individually fashions the dozensโ€”and, sometimes, even hundredsโ€”of petals, spines, and leaves that comprise each sculpture.

The neuroscientist and applied physicist have paired together to create an artistic series of images that the artists describe as โ€œthe most fundamental self-portrait ever created.โ€ Literally going inside, the pair has blown up a thin slice of the brain 22 times in a series called Self-Reflected.
