Playful Notebook Drawings of Characters Eating Odd Dinners

In The Last Supper, Moscow-based artist Nataliya Platonova filled every page of her little notebook with clever illustrations and she utilized the crease to add dimension to each playful scene. The project features all kinds of interesting characters about to enjoy a meal at the dinner table. Occasionally the artist adds a hint of color to the otherwise monochromatic images.

Surreal Paintings Beautifully Convey Feelings of Uncertainty

Relativity is a series that explores the relationship between two elegantly dressed figures as they float within surreal surroundings. With their faces hidden from view, the man and woman universally symbolize any person who has ever felt lost or misdirected in life. Created by Nashville-based artist Alex Hall, the oil paints on masonite panels blend figurative portraits with illogical elements like a tug-of-war between two birds and an endless descent guided by a red umbrella.

Revealing "Before I Die" Art Project Goes Global

Back in 2011, we first wrote about Candy Chang's powerful interactive art project “Before I Die” where she painted a side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood of New Orleans with chalkboard paint and then stenciled in the words, “Before I die I want to ___.” Anyone who happened to pass by could share their deepest and most personal thoughts.
