Adorable Illustrations of Random Words

As a way to strengthen his brain muscles, concept artist and illustrator Charles Santoso decided he would a start a project called Daily Random Word Doodles. Every day, he asks his Twitter followers to give him a word and then he picks the very first one submitted. He then spends anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half creating a digital interpretation of that word.

Giant Shoes Made of Pots, Pans, and Lids

Paris-born, Lisbon-based artist Joana Vasconcelos takes everyday objects and transforms them into life-size replicas of high-heel sandals in her aptly titled series Shoes. Each towering shoe is constructed out of dozens of stainless steel pots, pans, and lids of varying sizes.

Shattered Glass Sculptures Stand in Solitude

Artist Daniel Arsham puts pieces back together in these broken glass sculptures. He combines bits of glass with resin to form the great detail and shape of the molded human figures. The New York-based artist is interested in challenging perceptions of space, architecture, and objects that are natural versus manufactured. He creates many inconceivable pieces in which he reworks known materials into unexpected forms, and these glass sculptures are a prime example of these intentions.

Stunning Steel Wool Sparkling Gifs

While we've seen our share of stunning steel wool photography before, never have we come across it in incredible gif form like this. France-based engineer and photographer Mathieu Degrotte shares his fascination with fire in his Animated Gifs folder at DeviantArt. In particular, the 24-year-old's spinning steel wool gifs are absolutely mesmerizing to watch.
