Taiwanese artist Tung Ming-Chin is a master of transforming wood into pensive, emotive sculptures. His smoothly polished pieces transform as the viewer moves around them, slowly revealing surprises. Often dealing with themes of inner emotion and the subconscious mind, his sculptures regularly show figures trapped within the wood, pressing themselves against the outer layer in an attempt to break free.

Artist Hand-Carves Miniature ‘Game of Thrones’ Sculptures on the Tips of Pencils

Many art forms require attention to detail, but Russian artist Salavat Fidai takes his craft to the next level with a growing portfolio of incredible pencil lead art. His latest series of micro sculptures pays homage to HBO’s Game of Thrones. From a miniature Iron Throne to a tiny, scaly dragon, each fragile piece is meticulously hand-carved from graphite pencil tips using an X-ACTO knife.

World’s Largest Bird Sculpture Took Artists 10 Years to Complete

The idyllic setting of Kerala, India boasts incredible views of nature that are best seen from Jatayu Earth’s Center. A joint venture between the country’s tourism department and Rajiv Anchal (a film director and sculptor), the nature park has been open since the end of 2017. It has since garnered a massive claim to fame; Jatayu Earth’s Center is home to the world’s largest bird sculpture.

Artist Uses Recycled Textile Waste to Handcraft Ocean-Inspired Rugs and Tapestries

Portuguese artist Vanessa Barragão pays homage to the ocean with her incredible sculptural textile art. Her textured woolen rugs, tapestries, and wall hangings are made using a variety of techniques to transform discarded industrial textile waste into forms that mimic the organic coral structures found in the sea. Her recent works, Coral Garden and Ocean Tapestry address the huge scale at which the textile industry pollutes the natural environment.
