Amazon is continuing to dip its toes into the world of handcrafted goods with the announcement of its new Handmade Wedding Shop. In expanding its Handmade brand, which opened two years ago to capitalize on the trend in purchased artisanal items, Amazon is hoping to grab more of the wedding industry, which generates over $300 billion dollars a year.
So what can you expect from the Wedding Shop? Creative reception and ceremony decor, personalized cake toppers, handcrafted jewelry and accessories are all available for the big day. “We created the Handmade Wedding Shop with the savvy couple in mind,” the head of marketing for the department told Women's Wear Daily. “The ability to purchase products from local artisans on the Handmade Wedding Shop offers customers a boutique shopping experience coupled with the convenience and selection of [Amazon].”
Also available are a wide selection of wedding invitations, gifts for the bridal party, as well as reception favors. The good news is that these unique, personalized items don't have to take more out of your wedding budget. Items range from under $25 for custom cufflinks to over $1,000 for engagement rings, with plenty of choice in between.
The storefront is currently only available in the United States, but can be shopped by international buyers via the U.S. website.
