Faces Emerge from Colorful Rows of Dots

New York-based artist Nathan Manire approaches his Dot Portraits with an abstract, graphic process. He uses large dots and a broad color palette to build his subjects' faces with watercolors. Up close, viewers see colorful circles, neatly arranged in organized rows. To more fully appreciate Manire's pointillist techniques, viewers need to squint their eyes or step back from the image in order to see the faces emerge from the large patterns of circular shapes.

Minimalist Art Movement Posters by Outmane Amahou

France-based graphic designer Outmane Amahou created this clever series as a way to visually document the history of art in a unique set of minimalist posters. The series, entitled Minimalist Art Movement Posters, features single shapes and solid blocks of color to portray the Renaissance, Expressionism, Surrealism, Dadaism, and Abstract art, to name a few. Each object is an iconic representation of a famous artist from that time period.

Various Collections Organized In Shocking Abundance

Photographing scissors is interesting, but collecting dozens of pairs, arranging them in organized patterns, and capturing that on camera is another story. Portland photographer Jim Golden is fascinated with objects and the people who own them. His latest project involves gathering specific themes together, working with stylist Kristin Lane to arrange the composition, and producing these organized still lifes filled with excessive gadgets, tools, and junk. Each image is titled according to the featured goods.
