Long Exposures Capture Acrobatic Dancers in Motion

Artist Jess Chapa-Malacara is both a former ballet dancer as well as a professional photographer. In his long-term project, Dance Prints, he merges these two passions into a technically stunning series that conveys the elegance and swift movements of dancers set against stark black backgrounds. In each photograph, Chapa-Malacara captures the many details of a particular dance move within one frame.

Self-Portraits Explore Fragmented Distortions of Reality

Created by photographer Cornelia Hediger, Doppelgnger (which means “double walker” in German) and Doppelgnger II are a beautiful exploration of the self in relation to the world around us. Inspired by the many fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, the Switzerland-based artist pieces together multiple images into a grid to create slightly misaligned realities and distortions.

On a regular basis, 23-year-old photographer Shane Hawk turns his eye towards the sky to document the daily magic that takes place overhead. Massive Polar Bears Enjoy a Magnificent Glowing Sunset

Many photographers have set out to document polar bears within their natural, snowy surroundings. Whether the animals are playfully rolling around in the snow or going for a quick swim, more often than not, they are surrounded by a stark white, wintry backdrop. However, in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, French photographer Sylvain Cordier stumbled upon this colorfully magnificent moment that shows a family of polar bears set against an absolutely stunning sunset.
