Photorealistic Pencil Portraits of Animals

I came across these animal drawings by Sydney-based artist Jaimee Paul and was amazed by just how realistic they looked. (The fur! The feathers!) Growing up on a farm in New Zealand with eight dogs, four cats, two horses and many lambs, she's used to being surrounded by animals. It's no wonder then, that now she focuses on them. “They have such personality, they're so complex and every one is so different.

He took a ten-year hiatus from exhibiting any work to travel the world, exploring the vast and natural landscapes of exotic lands including India, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Egypt, and Antarctica. On his journey, he discovered and documented the exquisite coexistence of humans and animals in his ongoing series titled Ashes and Snow.

Fantastic Portraits of Farm Animals

“I take the conventions from the fashion world and apply them to the underclass barnyard animal,” Rob MacInnis told The New York Times. I saw that line and a few pictures and I was hooked. A photographer who wanted to give barnyard animals some love? How could you not get behind a project like that.
