Giant Wooden Trolls Make Mischief in an Enchanting Outdoor Museum

Over the summer, the Morton Arboretum in northern Illinois welcomed some peculiar new guests: a whimsical tribe of wooden trolls. Crafted by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, these mythical creatures are the sought-after stars of the outdoor museum’s site-specific exhibit, Troll Hunt. Troll Hunt invites the public to find six folkloric figures hidden within the arboretum: Niels Bragger, Furry Ema, Sneaky Socks Alexa, Rocky Bardur, Little Arturs, and Joe the Guardian.

Local Volunteers Help Artist Suspend 500,000 Flowers Inside Toledo Art Museum

British artist Rebecca Louise Law uses real flowers as her medium to create stunning, immersive installation art. Suspended with copper wire, her floating indoor gardens transform art galleries and “cocoon” the viewer in a world of mesmerizing color. For her largest installation to date, titled Community, Law had the help of local volunteers from Toledo, Ohio to install 500,000 dried and fresh flowers inside the Toledo Art Museum.

Japanese Teacher Creates Incredible Chalkboard Art to Inspire Students

Japanese art teacher Naohiko has found a creative way to motivate his students to take part in the junior high school’s annual sports day. The dedicated teacher spends hours creating incredible chalkboard art of well-known, inspirational characters next to words of encouragement. Using only six different chalk colors, Naohiko stayed behind after school hours to work on his artwork at night.
