Ghostly Porcelain Bowls Designed with Dramatic Splatters Frozen in Time

Artist Aylin Bilgiç has captured a moment in time through her delicate ceramic bowls. The porcelain vessels—part of an aptly-titled series Fluid Porcelain—have dramatic splashes that whip from their edges. It’s as if the bowl was full of liquid, had something thrown into it, and then a picture was snapped at just the right second. Bilgiç has crafted illusion so well that we still expect the splatting substance to fall to the ground.

Artist Turns Old Silverware into Blooming Flower Bouquets

Using standard silverware, British artist Ann Carrington creatively crafts realistic floral arrangements that overflow with blossoming botanicals. Though made entirely of metal, each utensil bouquet appears to bloom before your eyes, breathing new life into otherwise unwanted and unimaginative household tools. Through careful crafting and with ample patience, Carrington turns the aged flatware and other kitchen tools into beautiful bunches of flowers.

Colorful Watercolor Paintings Immortalize Tokyo’s Historical Storefronts

After moving from Kobe to Tokyo three years ago, Polish animator Mateusz Urbanowicz was struck by the number of historical buildings that survive in Japan's capital. So, he did what any real artist would, and set out to capture Tokyo's storefronts in beautiful watercolor paintings. While Urbanowicz's day job has him working for a Tokyo animation studio, he also works on his own, private art projects, often in watercolor.
