Sculptures of Blue Men Submerged in Water Leave Visual Commentary on Climate Change

Argentinian artist Pedro Marzorati recently completed a poetic land-art installation in the center of Montsouris Park in Paris, which comments on the theme of globally rising water levels. The electric blue busts seem to either be rising out of the water or, contrarily, being overwhelmed by the waves. Ultimately, the take away from this enigmatic piece is dependent on your perspective. Entitled Where the Tides Ebb and Flow, this powerful work has successfully managed to arouse public curiosity.

Gorgeous Surfboards and Skate Decks Completely Cloaked in Famous Classical Artworks

Surfing and skateboarding culture has gone classical in this beautiful collaboration. As a continuation of their period-themed boards, Boom-art has joined forces with the European surf company UWL to create 504, a series of surfboards and skate decks featuring the work of renowned artists Jan Davidsz. de Heem (1606 – 1684) and Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918).

23-Year-Old Welds Metal Canvases to Create Psychedelic Portraits

Engineer Richard Lauth uses his imaginative expertise to demonstrate how welding can serve an unexpected art form. Lauth himself prefers a TIG welding technique, which utilizes a tungsten electrode to deliver a current to the welding site. The puddle that forms is then cooled with a gas. While this undertaking appears quite straightforward, it does require an expert amount of skill. In order to achieve a rainbow-like effect, welders must maintain proper heat control and pressure.
