Thickly Layered Flower Paintings Literally Pop Off Artistโ€™s Canvas

Artist Jane Ironside (of IronsideImpastos) paints flowers that literally pop off the page. Utilizing a distinct impasto style involving layers that impressively resemble flower petals, the creative is able to depict a wide range of blossoms. Ironside does so using a simple palette brush to mix both light and dark colors, which also allows her to play with dimension. She explains that her technique is โ€œjust like icing cupcakes!
