Artist Creates Strikingly Complex Fusions of Photos and Drawings

Paris-based artist Bertrand Flachot fuses photography and drawing in his collection of beautifully complex landscapes. Artworks featuring cities, mountains, and rolling hills begin as colorful photos that are then drawn over with the fluid marks of a pen. It's reminiscent of something you'd find in a sketchbook as Flachot includes lines and objects that weren't in the original photographs. With these handcrafted additions, the artist is creating similar-feeling, yet entirely different locales.

Australian craftsman Moerkey, also known as Michael Moerkerk, recycles discarded keys and transforms them into unique works of art. It all started when he was supposed to be cleaning out his shed and he came across some old copper pipe. He then cut it into rings and began honing a technique that lead to the creation of decorative spheres, bowls, figures, and more. Moerkerk bends and twists keys to alter them in unexpected ways.
