Hyper-Realistic Pencil Drawings of Everyday Reflections

Black and white photos? Not quite! With these fantastic hyper-realistic pencil drawings, Estonia-based artist Heikki Leis makes us see the common ritual we all experience every morning in a whole new light. Called Everyday Reflections, the series consists of 60×60 cm portraits of local Estonians doing everything from washing their face and brushing their teeth to applying a little color to their face.

Artist Builds Most Narrow House in the World

Narrow House is one of the many ways that Austrian artist Erwin Wurm looks at the world differently and challenges his viewers to do the same. Wurm created this installation based off of his childhood home. Visitors were invited into the living quarters to explore the narrow spaces and slender furniture that filled the house. Everything including the hallways, the bedroom, the living areas, even the toilet, were unusually compressed.

Massive Meta Sand Sculpture of a Man Holding Tiny Versions of Himself

Summer is most definitely here in the northern hemisphere which means it's sand sculpting season and expert craftsman Carl Jara has already taken the gold medal for this year's Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition with his mind-blowing creation titled Infinity. The massive meta structure, which took three days to complete, depicts five identical versions of a man holding himself in the palm of his own hand.
