Though the crisis in the Gulf is no laughing matter, you've got to give it to the cartoonists who can take such a serious situation and turn it into thought-provoking art. According to new government estimates found last week, as much as 60,000 barrels (2.5 million gallons) of oil may be gushing into the Gulf every day.

Sick Spider Web Installation Made of Packaging Tape (6 pics)

Imagine Spiderman going completely insane and losing control of his web shooters and then look at this crazy art installation by Viennese/Croatian design collective For Use/Numen. Using nothing but nearly 100 pounds of packaging tape, For Use/Numen transforms abandoned attics, galleries and stock exchange buildings into a spider's cocoon paradise. The coolest part about, of course, is that the installations invites visitors to sit and relax, asking them to partake in the experience.

Urban Street Art: Os Gemeos and Blu Collaborate in Lisbon

There's a lot going on in this collaborative piece by artists Os Gemeos and Blu. If you look closely at the huge mural which covers two sides of a tall building, you'll notice that the man sucking the globe wears a crown adorned with oil company logos. The piece is timely considering what's going on in the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully that dude with a human slingshot will take him out.

Not one to just rest and enjoy the success of his critically acclaimed documentary, “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” Banksy's been tearing up San Francisco, beautifying the city with over ten pieces within the last 30 days. Out of the five new pieces that were just found, this one really stands out. “If at First You Don't Succeed – Call an Airstrike,” says a child wearing a gas mask.
