Interview: Photographer Spends 10 Years Capturing the Visual Symphony of Waves

Australian photographer Ray Collins has turned his love of the sea into a career with his stunning wave photography. For years we've watched as the colorblind photographer advanced his career, first with his series Seascapes and most recently with his collaborative cinemagraphs. Collins, who bought his first camera in 2007 and left a job as a coal miner to pursue his passion, has collaborated with National Geographic, Vogue, Patagonia, Apple, and Nikon.

“Magical” Waterfall Glowing at Night Captured With a Simple Lighting Trick

During a backpacking trip to Havasu Falls with her friends and husband, photographer Carley Nelson decided to bring home a special souvenir. Using only the light emitted by the group's headlamps, she was able to bring home a spectacular image of the waterfall at night. Instructing the group to remain as still as possible, she was able to capture the magic of the falling water cascading under the stars.

Photographer Captures the Mystifying Moods of Mount Fuji at Dawn

Earlier this month, we introduced you to Japanese photographer Takashi Nakazawa—a member of Your Shot, whose beautiful image of Mount Fuji was recently chosen by National Geographic as their June/July 2018 Traveler cover. As it turns out, Takashi has been enchanted by Japan’s tallest peak for several years and often spends his weekends capturing the iconic volcano in all its majestic beauty.
