Modern Architecture – The Floating Stage (7 pics)

Located on the Han River in Seoul, South Korea, the Floating Stage seems like the perfect place to enjoy an outdoor concert. Designed by Kyungam Architects Associates, the recently completed stage is equipped with LED lights used during laser and water fountain shows. The Floating Stage has a seating capacity of 2,200 people and is part of the Han River Renaissance Master Plan.

X-Ray Vision – Nick Veasey (18 photos)

British photographer Nick Veasey uses X-rays to reveal the inner workings and structure of objects. He takes his X-ray photographs in a shed with a door of lead and steel, and thick concrete walls. While most people use high-powered X-ray machines to look for disease, Veasey uses them to look for beauty. As radiation is highly dangerous, Veasey X-rays cadavers to produce the human elements of his photographs.

Master of Miniatures – Nikolai Aldunin (9 pics)

Seven camels in the eye of a needle. Can you imagine how steady your hand must be to create one of these miniature masterpieces? One breath could literally destroy an entire collection… Coined the master of miniatures, Russian artist Nikolai Aldunin works between the beats of his heart, in order to keep his hands perfectly still. Using superglue, syringes and toothpicks, he creates works of art so tiny, a microscope is needed to see them.
