Loving Dad Gets Tattoo to Match Daughter’s Cochlear Implant

Alistair Campbell is setting an amazing example for fathers everywhere. When his daughter Charlotte was 4 years old, her parents realized that she was unable to hear properly. Soon, they discovered that she was almost deaf in her left ear. As for her right ear, she was diagnosed with a specific condition that limits its ability to transmit sound to her brain. To correct these impairments, Charlotte received her first cochlear implant, greatly improving the quality of her life.

So that his daughter wouldn't feel alone during this time, Campbell decided to get a special tattoo. He shaved his entire head and had a cochlear implant tattooed above his left ear–just like Charlotte's real device! “[I did it for] my love for her really,” the amazing father told NZ Herald, adding, “Hey, my hair can grow back.” When Charlotte first saw her father's new addition, she reached out to touch it and giggled with excitement. This alone demonstrates the beautiful bond that's shared between this young girl and her supportive father.
