Dark and Moody Zoo Animal Portraits by Alex Teuscher

Geneva-based photographer Alex Teuscher shows us the fine art of zoo animals with these dark and moody portraits. He originally came up with the idea when he was going through his old files of animal photos and felt like something was missing. “I decided to experiment and see what kind of results I could get,” he tells us.

Surreal Photos of 99 Animals Gathered Around the Ultimate Watering Hole

Last March, we told you about Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang's latest installation, 99 life-sized wild animals gathered around the ultimate watering hole. Now showing at the Queensland's Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) until May 11, you can witness this stunning installation yourself. Called Heritage 2013 it shows both predator and prey all drinking from the same blue lake surrounded by pristine white sand, which was inspired by the lakes of Moreton Bay's islands.

Rainbow Spectrums Mirrored Throughout Palacio de Cristal

Imagine the bright spectrum of colors you would bask in while walking through a cathedral full of rainbows. To Breathe – A Mirror Woman is Kimsooja's 2006 site-specific installation for the Palacio de Cristal in Madrid, Spain. To expand and unite the architectural structure of the space, Kimsooja had the whole floor tiled in mirrors. She then covers the vault and the entire glass surface of the palace with a translucent diffraction film.

Berlin’s New Angular Building is Sleek and Metallic

Chausseestrasse 43 is a new design for a multipurpose building in Berlin by architect Daniel Libeskind. Rising eight-stories-high, this 107,000 sq. ft. structure is designed to accommodate up to 73 apartments (including a top floor penthouse), each with one to four bedrooms. Additionally, the building offers a number of shops on its ground floor, underground parking, and a common outdoor area.
