Magnificent Five-Story Book Mountain Library

Architecture firm MVRDV designed this magnificent library called Book Mountain, literally a mountain of books covered by a glass shell. The public library, located in Spijkenisse near Rotterdam, sits in the market square and serves as an invitation for visitors to come in and take a gander at the giant selection of interesting books shelved within the five-story structure. The building is formed out of brick, glass, and wood, and is shaped like a pyramid.

Haunting 3D Projection of Giant Faces on Trees

Tonight is the last night to see a haunting artwork at Hyde Park South in Sydney, Australia. For the last few weeks, contemporary artist Craig Walsh has been showing Emergence, an amazing projection where the park's trees come alive as faces emerge from the leaves and branches. Paying homage to the park's history as a meeting place for civic unrest, protest and direction action, three faces tell interesting stories about civic involvement.
