Modern Architecture: Seoul’s Design Park and Plaza

Famed architect Zaha Hadid is going to transform central Seoul into a modern mecca when she creates the Dongdaemun Design Park and Plaza. The 85,000 square meter plaza will house a learning resource for designers and give members of the public a design museum, library and educational facilities. There will also be a 30,000 square meter park that will serve as a green oasis within the dense urban surroundings of Dongdaemun, Seoul.

Modern Architecture – Water Drop Resort

Designed in the shape of a water droplet, the Water Building Resort will be the first building ever to convert air into water, using solar power energy. A sunny, southerly facing facade made of photovoltaic glass will harness solar energy, allowing light to pass through. The northern facade will contain a ventilation system that will convert humid air and condensation into pure drinking water.

Little People in the Big City (16 pics)

Trespassing The Little People Project by London-based Slinkachu is one of my all-time favorite art installations. After remodeling and painting miniature model train set characters, he places them on the street and takes photographs of them in funny and interesting predicaments. “The street-based side of my work plays with the notion of surprise and I aim to encourage city-dwellers to be more aware of their surroundings.

Huge 3D Wall Murals are Off the Wall – John Pugh (12 pics)

At first glance, it looks like an earthquake destroyed the walls of this building. Amazingly, it's just an optical illusion – even the woman looking inside is fake. The paintings, which have fooled many, were created by Californian-born artist John Pugh, who specializes in trompe l'oeil or “trick of the eye” art.
