For the past year, people have turned to their own hair as a canvas for their artistic interpretations of the world around them, finding a range of inspiration from baked goods to childhood tales of mythical creatures to the entire universe. Hairstylist Ursula Goff has certainly experimented with each of these trends, but now the creative colorist has embarked on a series that draws inspiration from art history. Goff channels the work of late greats–think van Gogh, Monet, and Warhol–for her Fine Art Series.
The visually gifted, Kansas-based creative pulls colors from famed artworks like Edvard Munch's The Scream and translates them into flowing locks of hair. Documenting her vivid hair art series on Instagram, Goff revisits the classic paintings of Vermeer, O'Keeffe, and other renowned artists from a contemporary point of view. While sharing her personal interpretation, she also includes information about each artist and the art movements they pioneered or played pivotal roles in.
