New Ink, Tea and Alcohol Portraits by Carne Griffiths

Artist Carne Griffiths has just debuted a powerful new set of work for his show Invisible Lines at Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong. The beautifully messy portraits are made with conventional materials like calligraphy ink and graphite but he also drips liquid onto his works like herbal tea and alcohol.

Massive Fabric Sculpture is Life-Size Home within Home

One of our favorite contemporary artists has just come out with his largest work to date. Do Ho Suh is a Korean sculptor and installation artist who's known for his thought-provoking sculptures that often have to do with migration and personal space. While she's used to taking celebrity portraits like those of actress Keira Knightley, chef Jamie Oliver or the rock band Beastie Boys, photographer Jenny Lewis shows that she's just as skilled at capturing beautiful portraits of mother and child. One Day Young is a touching photo project that shows mothers with their babies within 24 hours of their birth.

Artist Creates Huge Photorealistic Portraits of His Family

Grandmother 24-year-old artist Dino Tomic (aka AtomiccircuS) has completed five of six photorealistic portraits of his family using colored pencils, charcoal and acrylic. While he's equally skilled at creating digital art as well as making hyperrealistic colored pencil drawings of eyes, it's these large-scale portraits that has us in total disbelief. While Tomic is also a tattoo artist by trade, he's been spending a lot of his time making these mixed media portraits.
