Laments & Lullabies by Lori Earley: London

Lori Earley's debut UK solo show, “Laments and Lullabies,” opened last week at London's Opera Gallery. The beautiful redhead, who has been praised for her authentic portraiture, reportedly takes around a month to make each of her flawless oil paintings. Born and raised in New York, Earley was an accomplished and gifted artist from a young age. As a maturing adolescent, she discovered her distinct style and fondness for painting deeply personal subject matter.

Cool Concept: Portable Solar Tree (5 pics)

When you're out at the beach or anywhere else there's sun, why not use the Solar Tree to charge your gadgets? Korean designers Jun-Se Kim, Min-Goo Kim and Dong-Eon Kim have created a portable pole equipped with a solar panel on top. Simply stick the pole in the ground, and solar energy that is harnessed from the panel is transferred to onboard batteries. Electricity is then made available via multiple sockets mounted on the pole.
