Abstract Photos Feature Gorgeous Details Found Throughout Nature

Washington-based photographer Thorsten Scheuermann has a strong eye for capturing the details in nature. When observing a landscape, he sees both the vast beauty as well as the intimate details that can often be overlooked. In this series of work, Scheuermann finds unique ways to present nature as layers of colorful texture. “I love hiking in America's National Parks,” explains Scheuermann.

Looking Up at Hong Kong’s Densely Populated Skyscrapers

Stacked is an intense series that features the compact urban architecture of Hong Kong. Standing from below, Australia-based photographer Peter Stewart points his camera upwards to capture the abstract shapes which form the densely populated public housing structures. Clothing hangs from railings, different colored lights illuminate windows, and endless rows of balconies ascend towards the sky in each vibrant image.

Futuristic House Design Concept Harnesses Energy from Ocean Waves

Designer and architect Margot Krasojevic recently revealed designs for this futuristic home concept, called the Hydroelectric Tidal House, in which tidal wave power is harnessed to generate energy. The idea proposes the construction of a structure with an outer and inner shell. The concrete outer shell anchors the house to the beach and uses solar cells to provide an electrical supply to the living area.
