Artist Spent a Year in the Woods Creating Mysterious Sculptures

Deep in the woods of southern France, artist Spencer Byles transformed the forest into a mysterious wonderland through a series of spectacular, organic sculptures. Byles spent a year immersed in the woodlands of La Colle sur Loup, Villeneuve-Loubet, and Mougins for this ambitious project. Surrounded by flora and fauna, the sculptor used only cables and natural, found materials to create his stunning, large-scale works of art.

Mesmerizing Tunnel Looks Like a Colorful Kaleidoscope When Walking Through One Way

Olafur Eliasson's colorful glass tunnel comes to life when you stroll through it one way, but if you look back over your shoulder, the panels appear black. The mesmerizing, kaleidoscope-like tunnel is comprised of stained glass triangles held together with bold, black piping. When viewed from one end, the tunnel is a rainbow of purple, pink and yellow, but the interesting one-way effect masks the colors from the other side.

Mexican Folk Art Sculptures Created by Residents of Oaxaca

In the Tree Magic Folk Art Etsy store, wooden Mexican folk art sculptures of stylized animals come to life with vibrant colors and whimsical features. The sculptures are created by residents of Oaxaca, decorated with elements characteristic of folk art from the state –designs made of brightly colored dots and animals with exaggerated ears, tails and facial features. The artists carve the figures from copal wood and decorate them with acrylic paint.

Hilarious Science Teacher Adds Creative Additions to Students’ Doodles

Imgur user Squeezymo, a former eighth and ninth grade science teacher in Bangkok, Thailand, included more than just grades on his students’ work. The educator noticed that his kids drew a lot on their papers. So, he established a rule in the classroom: if you draw something, the teacher will add to it, too. Original drawings are in pencil and Squeezymo’s handiwork is in red pen. As you might imagine, this created some hilarious mashups.
