Large Coral Reef Sculpture Raises Conservation Awareness

Our Changing Seas III is part of an ongoing series featuring large-scale coral reef sculptures by artist and ocean advocate Courtney Mattison, who finds herself turning to environmental science and marine biology to find inspiration for her artwork. The artist carefully shapes the coral from glazed stoneware and porcelain to mimic the beauty of nature, using chopsticks and paint brushes to sculpt each piece by hand.

A few blocks from our temporary apartment in Madrid, my wife and I spotted this eye-catching street art piece by Okudart. The very first thing you'll notice is the intense burst of colors radiating from the mural. The piece is bright and vibrant in all the right ways and truly adds life to an already bustling city. Okudart aka Oscar San Miguel Erice has been based in Madrid since 2000.

Banksy’s New Mural Mocks Smart Phone Distracted Lovers

Banksy, the most recognized street artist of this era, had been quiet since his whirlwind tour of New York City last fall. Well, he's up to his old tricks again, and his website was recently updated with a new piece that's painted on a quaint stone wall on Clement Street in Bristol, United Kingdom. It features two people in a close embrace but are distracted and checking their phones over the other's shoulder.
