Lumberjack Tree Trunk Cake Sports Edible Ax and Plaid Interior

Culinary artist Elizabeth Marek (of the Artisan Cake Company) designed a plaid lumberjack cake–which impressively looks nothing like your average dessert. On the outside, the cake perfectly resembles a tree trunk complete with realistic textures and, on top, there's an edible ax that looks as though it's just been sharpened. When you cut into this work of art, you'll realize that Marek takes her lumberjack design very seriously.

Artists Project the Faces of Endangered Animals onto the Vatican for Environmental Justice

In a bold call-to-arms, the Vatican recently teamed up with the film producers of Racing Extinction—a documentary exposing the potential mass loss of species, due to both the international wildlife trade and pollution, and corruption of the oil and gas trade—to present a massive light show depicting some of Earth’s most threatened inhabitants. The impressive light display was projected onto the ancient façade of St. Peter’s Basilica, drawing the attention of thousands of onlookers.
