Whimsical Artist Portraits Created with Balloon Heads

Artist's Face–Ballons is a playful portrait series by artist Laurina Paperina that blends human bodies with balloon heads. The project, which includes Frida Kahlo, Cindy Sherman, Joseph Kosuth, and even Paperina herself, creatively interprets each artist based on a combination of appearance and artistic style. Set within a studio, a bedroom, or against a blank wall, each unconventional image features a figure holding up a large balloon face covered with an artist-specific illustration.

Giant Paint Splash Sculpture by Tomas Misura

With all the serious, high-brow art out there, isn't it refreshing to see something like this? Artist Tomas Misura created this fun work called Splash for Bondi Beach's Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in 2010. Misura won the $3,000 kids choice prize for the sculpture of a giant stainless steel paint tube squirting red paint towards the beach.

Amazing Typography Portraits Created with Song Lyrics

Justin Timberlake Anyone interested in typography will be in complete awe of these realistic portraits by artist Sean Williams. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the designer, photographer, and art director certainly has a great eye for conceptual designs. To create the series, entitled Hip Hop Type, Williams took the lyrics from popular songs by each subject, including Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Kanye West.

Draping Gown Made of 1,400 Household Gloves

A Mixture of Frailties is an intriguing installation by British artist Susie MacMurray that prominently displays a 6-foot-tall gown made of 1,400 household gloves. Each of the yellow gloves, typically used for household chores like cleaning and washing, have been turned inside out, revealing their white interior. The intentional color choice seems to allude to a wedding gown, leading the viewer to ruminate on its significance.
