Gorgeous Iceberg Sculpture Made of Tissue Paper and Staples

If you ever thought you needed fancy, expensive materials to make an impressive piece of art, then you haven't seen this sculpture by Gabby O'Connor. Called What Lies Beneath, it's a huge installation that resembles an iceberg. Hanging from a ceiling, it's made up of thousands of small paper triangles dyed in shades of blue-green, coated in shellac and then stapled together with thousands of staples.

Breathtakingly Enchanted Landscapes Radiate with Color

Chinese-American painter Ken Hong Leung, often referred to simply as H. Leung, creates beautiful landscapes illuminated by rainbow-hued washes of light. The touch of colorful vibrance add a hint of magic to each environment. There is an engagingly unearthly quality to his natural landscapes that draws the viewer's gaze and guides the eye all across the frame.

Pretty Origami Typography Spotted in San Francisco Street

Art group TheUpsideUp somehow managed to combine three of our favorite subjects into one beautiful new installation – street art, origami and typography. First spotted this past Tuesday morning in San Francisco, on Asian Art Museum's exterior wall, the pretty 3-D art installation was thought to be the work of Parisian origami artist Mademoiselle Maurice (who you may remember from this post).

Australian artist Guy Whitby, aka WorkByKnight (WBK), draws inspiration from the global transition into the digital era for his unconventionally pixelated portraits. The artist recreates the image of influential celebrities, musicians, and political figures by atypically assembling varied buttons found on your common keyboard, calculators, type writers, and phones. Using his skilled hand in photo manipulation, WBK produces every piece with close attention to each neatly aligned key that serves as a single pixel.
