Adorably Awkward Cards by Emily McDowell

I have a confession. I have been obsessed with Emily McDowell's illustrations ever since I laid eyes on them. This woman has the most hilarious sense of humor I have found on the Internet in a very long, long time. The illustrator, designer and self-professed “truth-teller” only really busted out into the art scene in January 2013, when she created a funny Valentine's Day card (seen above)

Lily Pad Coasters and Flowers are Beautifully Handmade

England-based artist Marieanne Cavaciuti of Damson Tree Pottery was recently given two major nods of approval. Not only did her water lily pad coasters land on the front page of Etsy, fellow artist Mister Finch featured her works on his Facebook page. The lily pad coasters are all handmade, so each piece is unique. Cavaciuti cuts the lily pad shapes freehand with her potter's pin, carves veins in the leaves, and then biscuit fires everything.

Eco-Friendly Skateboard is Made Using Recycled Fishing Nets

Fishing nets are not a material that you'd imagine a skateboard would be made of. The three friends who make up the company Bureo, however, know differently. Ben Kneppers, David Stover, and Kevin Ahearn worked in partnership with the creative collective Satori Movement and designer Gabriella Laruccia to craft The Minnow, a unique board that uses roughly 30 square feet of harvested fishing nets.
