Mood Wall Designed to Improve Mental Health

Do you ever have those days when you just feel like you're in a funk? You just can't shake those heavy, sinking feelings? Maybe you're feeling stressed, empty, scared or stuck. In essence, you just don't feel like yourself. As a way to improve mental health in Canada, Blok Design worked with Partners for Mental Health to come up with a way to draw people into a conversation, encouraging an open dialogue.

Hi-Tech Fashion: Dress Projection Mapping

Could this be the future of fashion? French fashion designer Franck Sorbier unveiled his latest collection of haute couture for the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 that features a seamless (no pun intended) blend of fashion and technology. The designer's new line of works consisted of only two models – one in a black, fitted dress with an elaborate, pointy hat and the other with a simple, white ball gown.

Poland’s Mind-Melting Crooked House

You may recall the unusual architectural constructs created by photo manipulation expert Michael Jantzen and think you know better than to believe that such wacky, funhouse-like structures actually exist in this world, but think again. Krzywy Domek, translated as Crooked House, is a shopping center in Sopot, Poland that curves and slants for real! There's no photo editing tools used to depict this unconventionally structured edifice.

Okinawa’s Banyan Treehouse Restaurant

In Japan, there's a structurally inventive restaurant called Naha Harbor Diner that takes the traditional treehouse to another level. It is a pan-Asian restaurant sitting atop a tree trunk, nestled amidst its branches, in the Banyan Town shopping center in Okinawa. The restaurant which offers “locally grown and organic harvested foods fresh from the farm” stands out amongst the surrounding businesses, drawing attention with its towering presence, not to mention its extraordinarily intriguing design.
