Stunning Celebrity Portraits Captured at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2019

The 2019 Oscars will be remembered as the year without a host, but photographer Mark Seliger is making sure we don’t forget the fashion. Working with Vanity Fair, he set up an Oscars Portrait Studio and invited some of the world’s biggest stars to get their picture taken at the magazine's party. The setting featured exquisite details like marble steps, a checkered floor, and an Art Deco-inspired window.

Drone Photos of Barcelona Highlight the Symmetry of the City’s Architecture

World Press Photo Announces Nominees for the 2019 Photojournalism Contest

After culling through more than 78,000 photographs from over 4,700 photographers, the expert judges of the World Press Photo contest have announced the finalists of the 2019 competition. The panelists have selected 43 photographers from 23 countries to represent the best in photojournalism, with women making up 32% of the finalists. This is a great increase from the previous year, when only 12% of the nominees were female.

African Black Panther Captured on Film, Confirming Existence of the Elusive Cat

British wildlife photographer Will Burrard-Lucas is helping make history with his recently captured images of an elusive black panther in Kenya. While sightings of black panthers—also known as black leopards—have been continuously reported, until now there has been almost no photographic evidence of their existence. As only about 11% of all leopards are black, getting one on film, particularly in Africa, is no easy feat.
