Married Couple Finally Takes Romantic Wedding Photos After 60 Years Together

Love can be a fleeting emotion, but if you’ve found your special person, the life you have built together is something to celebrate. In 1957, Brazilian couple Dona Rosa and Seu Rousso (aka “the Russian boy”) got married in a wedding that was a family affair; a grandfather prepared the yard for the nuptials while an aunt made the cake and a godmother sewed Dona's dress. Sixty years later, the two are still going strong with a large family to show for it. They have nine children, 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren—and their brood is certain to grow.

To commemorate all their years, Dona and Seu recently had a vow renewal. This was truly special because they didn't have tangible images from their original wedding, and now they were finally able to immortalize their ceremony in photos. São Paulo Fotografia captured the special loving moments through dreamy wedding photography. The desaturated colors give a vintage feel to the romantic portraits, which show what it’s like to love someone for that long. Dona and Seu still appear as passionate about each other as we imagine they were six decades ago; in the pictures, they look at one another as if they're the only two people in the world.

The ceremony was a joy for not only the family, but the photographers as well. Of the celebration, São Paulo Fotografia recalls, “[It] is stored in our happy memory box and when remembered and visualized makes the heart sigh.”
