Long Exposures Capture WiFi Signals as Eerie Patterns of Color

Digital Etheral is a multi-media project in which designer Luis Hernan explores human interactions with electromagnetic signals like WiFi, and attempts to create a visible representation of this wireless technology that surrounds us every day. As part of the project, the artist developed The Kirlian Device mobile, an app that translates WiFi signals into a five-color heatmap scheme where red means stronger signals and blue means weaker signals.

MMM Interview: Manjari Sharma’s Beautifully Intimate Portraits Taken in the Shower

Instead of using a traditional studio, Mumbai-born photographer Manjari Sharma found a more intimate setting to shoot portraits of friends, acquaintances, and strangers: the shower in her Brooklyn apartment. Although Sharma's subjects are nude, there's nothing racy about the images in the Shower Series. Instead, each person is portrayed with a tender sense of sensuality and closeness, beautiful in the moody lighting of the bathroom.

Playful Scenes Feature Miniature Toy People Living in Large Edible Worlds

Food is not just for eating according to William Kass. The inventive photographer sees all kinds of nourishment as the backdrop for his adventurous miniature scenes. Minimize–Food is an ongoing series in which corn cobs are transformed into mountain peaks for climbers to conquer, orange slices are the perfect cool spot to lay out in the sun, and kale leaves curl up into the perfect waves for surfers.
