Illustrations Made of Tiny Repeating Words

Art never ceases to amaze me! Vietnam native and Toronto-based photographer and artist Huy Lam has created some astounding illustrations. What makes them so special? Each is made up of words, not brush strokes! By using repeating words in different colors, Lam hopes to “provoke thought, discussion and even laughter.” Having trouble figuring out which word or words he's used? Split Family Faces

Cousins: Justine, 29, & Ulric, 29 How much do you and your family members really look alike? Quebec, Canada-based graphic designer and photographer Ulric Collette has created a shockingly cool project where he's exploring the genetic similarities between different members of the same family. By splitting their faces in half and then splicing them together, he creates interesting new people that are sometimes quite normal looking and other times far from it.

Sliced Metal Sculptures

What makes Korean sculptor Chan Girl Park stand out is his ability to create metal sculptures by layering thin metal pieces as if he was putting together a puzzle. He calls his works of art “sliced images.” Park uses three-dimensional topography charts to plot out where he'll place each slice next. His mastery of this type of sculpting has earned him numerous solo and group exhibitions across Korea and China.

Incredibly Colorful Magnified Grains of Sand

Viewed at an astounding magnification of over 250 times, tiny grains of sand are surprisingly colorful and extremely unique. Each piece is either a fragment of crystals, spiral fragments of shells or crumbs of volcanic rock. To see these incredible images, Dr. Gary Greenberg goes through a painstakingly lengthy process. First, he takes many photos from different points of focus. Then, he combines them using software to produce one spectacular image.
