Spectacular Colors of Nature (20 photos)

23-year-old web designer Joni Niemel took up photography as a side hobby. Shooting in his home country of Finland, Niemel has an ability to bring out the ultimate beauty of nature through color, composition and lighting. He always shoots in RAW-mode and then edits in Lightroom. Take a look at some of his best photos and you'll notice that this self-professed “amateur” photographer has undoubtedly mastered macro photography.

Optical Illusion Bookshelf (4 pics)

From a bending bookcase apartment to a branching bookshelf, what we put our books on has evolved over time. In fact, I'm sure you'd agree that we have come along way from the standard bookcases and bookshelves. John Leung and Australian architecture firm Clarkehopkinsclark have created the isometric perspective bookshelf with a design that furthers this evolution. Named Bias of Thought, it's perplexing yet still very practical.

Ultimate Pirate Ship Bedroom (14 pics)

Designer Steve Kuhl fulfills every boy's fantasy with this insanely cool pirate ship bedroom. The six-year-old occupant from Minnesota chose between a space ship, race car, castle, and pirate ship. Most of us would probably agree, he made an excellent decision. The main feature of the room is the incredible floating pirate ship.

Hyperrealistic Balancing Elephant

My fondness for hyperrealistic art led me to this strangely mesmerizing sculpture by French contemporary artist Daniel Firman. Exhibited back in 2008, this life-size piece was seen at the Fontainebleau Castle in Paris, France. Called Wursa, the sculpture is balancing on its trunk 18,000 km above the earth. Firman consulted with a professional taxidermist to construct this piece making it look as real as possible.
