Complex Paper Stencils

Ask anyone and they'll agree, paper stencils are an art in and of themselves. Belgium native Kris Trappeniers accurately describes himself as more than just a paper stencil artist, he's a paper sculptor. His delicately cut stencils are extremely complicated and almost magical, to say the least. The detail to each is astounding. The finished result is spray painted, but the art lies more in the process he takes in reaching his desired result.

Mini Furniture Lamp

Design lovers rejoice! If you're looking for something unique and interesting, you've come to the right place. Italy native Paola Pivi created Nice Ball, a lamp made entirely from 80 miniature chairs and tables representing the iconic furniture designs from the Vitra Design Museum collection. When lit, the light bulb within the sphere projects a silhouette of the furniture, which allows the viewer to experience Vitra's designs both in 2D and 3D.

His collection, titled Disparity, is shown in galleries all across the United States. Why did the artist start down this creative path? โ€œThe hand-painted figures that I work with are made for HO scale model train sets,โ€ he tells us.
