In 2013, Project Semicolon began to take the world by storm in a global movement to support those who struggle with self-harm, addiction, and suicidal thoughts. The initiative spawned, among other things, tattoos of semicolons as a symbol of โ€œnot the end, but a new beginning.โ€ Inspired by this call-to-action, graphic designer Eisen Bernardo created his own twist on the social campaign.

If you hadnโ€™t seen artist Jason Seife painting these intricate designs himself, you'd think they were actually rugs. Using an impossibly small brush and acrylic paint, the Miami-based creative depicts the elaborate details youโ€™d normally find on Persian rugs. From floral motifs to fancy flourishes, Seife puts his own spin on these familiar patterned tapestries by incorporating hues that arenโ€™t typically seen in the large floor coverings. Street Artist Paints Sad Clown Faces on Lonely Discarded Furniture Left in the Street

No matter where you live, youโ€™ve probably come across sad, discarded furniture and household items that have been kicked to the curb. Unwanted, and exposed to the elements, these items are left on the hard pavement, waiting for someone to cherish them once again. A Los Angeles-based street artistโ€”who goes by the name Lonesome Townโ€”has been humanizing these unwanted objects and radiating their shared melancholy by painting sad clown faces on them.
