Lovely Flower Murals Transform Ordinary Rooms into Spaces with Blooming Personalities

Art Mural by Lilit Sargsyan

Artist and illustrator Lilit Sarkisian adds blooming personality to otherwise ordinary rooms with her floral mural art. Working completely freehand on walls, she sketches larger-than-life blossoms, vegetables, and succulents that effortlessly flow across their designated spaces. Although they're rendered in soft hues, they become a statement-making part of any room.

For the artist, location is key—it dictates how the mural will ultimately look. “I create all the sketches specifically for a specific location,” Sarkisian explains. Before putting brushes to the wall, she travels to the spot that she'll be painting and snaps pictures to carefully plan how the artwork will interact with the rest of the space—and her conscientiousness shows. The results are paintings that are cleverly placed under drab stairwells or spill onto shallow walls that could use a little pizazz.

Sarkisian first began her career a decade ago by drawing sketches from fashion shows at Ukrainian Fashion Week. After working for many years as a commercial artist, she took the leap to create her own independent brand in 2015. Since that time, her business has grown and now includes a variety of projects and a showroom in Kyiv.
