Hauntingly Beautiful Clothing Frozen in Blocks of Ice

As much of the United States continues to experience an insanely cold winter, many artists are making the most of it by documenting spectacular icicles dripping from a frozen lighthouse or by transforming boiling water into a cloud of tiny ice crystals. Environmental artist Nicole Dextras regularly uses ice as her medium to create unique sculptures where various textures and fabrics are set within thick blocks.

Extraordinary Detailed Hobo Nickel Carvings by Paolo Curcio

Impressively detailed, these miniature relief sculptures are carved into coins by Paolo Curcio, known artistically as Mr The. The generic term for this art form is hobo nickel, but any denomination of coin may be used. Curcio is particularly good at using clad coins, which are made of multiple layers of metal. He strategically whittles away the surfaces to reveal different colored details and backgrounds.

20 Miles of Stained Glass Colored Ribbon Hang Inside a SF Cathedral

Walk into the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco from now till the end of February and you'll find a gorgeous art installation that features 20 miles of ribbon cascading from the church's vaulted ceiling arches. Artist Anne Patterson is behind Graced With Light, an installation consisting of nearly 1,000 satin ribbons with colors inspired by stained glass.

Former French Schoolhouse Turned Enchanting Artist Studio

We came upon this artist by way of friend and photographer Kirsty Mitchell who wrote, “I literally don't think I have ever seen anything as utterly beautiful as the work and home studio of the artist Claire Basler. I think my idea of dying and going to heaven would be waking up in her studio. It's breathtaking, my brain is in pieces!
