Designer Transforms Wood Fragments into Brilliant, One-of-a-Kind Accessories

Inspired by Australia's brilliant flora and fauna, Melbourne-based jeweler Britta Boeckmann fuses wood fragments with colored resin to form gorgeous wearable accessories. Each pendant, ring, and pair of earrings are hand crafted and entirely unique–Boeckmann works without a template, and instead assesses her materials to produce pieces that elevate their natural characteristics. To do this, she gently sands the jewelry into shape and then applies varnish to give them a light luster.

Burning Man Sculpture Reveals Inner Child Glowing within Giant Wire-Framed Adult Bodies

Ukrainian artist Alexander Milov delighted Burning Man‘s festival-goers with a piece that allowed them to reconnect with their inner child. The Love sculpture features two wire adult figures sitting back-to-back. Inside their frames stand two children who are reaching out to one another. As the sun sets and the moon rises, the two young figures light up and set the surrounding area aglow.
