Gorgeous New Oil and Gold Leaf Painting by Brad Kunkle

New York City-based Brad Kunkle, the artist who deftly combines oil and actual gold leaves into his paintings, recently showed two new works at the Los Angeles Art Show. One of them, called Over the Ocean, will simply take your breath away. Made of oil and gold leaf on linen, it features a beautiful woman being magically lifted into the air. Could a murmuration of starlings be behind this supernatural deed?

Perfectly Symmetrical Paper Butterfly Installations

Paper art is a fascinating technique that requires a lot of patience and a lot of skill. Creative team Will & Caro, consisting of Australian-born Carolyn Wong and Finland-born William Du, are no strangers to this powerful artistic form. 2,000 Found Drinking Glasses Form Three Shimmering Trees

Glassblower and artist Katherine Gray is behind this beautiful installation called Forest Glass that consists of three trees made from 2,000 found drinking glasses. Stacked on Plexiglas shelves, the glasses are arranged by color to form the simplified version of trees – each with green leaves and a brown trunk. The glasses were all bought at thrift stores or on eBay.

Romantic Textured Paintings of Couples Walking Together

California-based artist Karen Tarlton's colorful paintings whisk us away into her romantic scenes of couples lovingly walking along tree-lined paths. Similar to the technique of painter Leonid Afremov, Tarlton uses a palette knife to produce her stunningly textured creations full of life.
