Three-Dimensional Paintings Attack!

Wow, is there something popping out of these paintings? (Recently, we saw something similar by Shintaro Ohata, who mixed 3D and 2D in a sweet and clever way.) French artist Shaka does three dimensional art right! His use of bright color really makes his paintings pop. According to Juxtapoz, Shaka recently exhibited his amazing works at Galerie 208 in Paris. How incredibly arresting.

3D Grass Globe at Paris City Hall

Artist François Abélanet plays tricks on our eyes, making us believe there is a three-dimensional grass globe sitting right in the middle of Paris' City Hall. When viewed at different angles, however, the illusion quickly falls apart. Who to believe? covers 16,000 sq ft (1500 sq m) and measures 330 ft (100 m) long. Approximately 90 gardeners worked for five days to assemble the entire display.

What's better than Picasso-inspired superheroes? Design company WonderBros made these awesome superheroes in the style of famous painter Pablo Picasso. They've even said that these “artworks are so awesome it will melt your face off.” WonderBros has taken pop culture icons and made them even more memorable by giving them a retro artistic look.
