Gorgeous Black Rhino Recreated with Intricate Fabric Collage

Using fabric as her paint palette, Kenyan-based artist Sophie Standing produces gorgeous portraits of animals on her sewing machine. The one-of-a-kind pieces are constructed by first sketching the image onto a canvas and then appliqueing an intricate collage of fabric on top. Standing then stitches linear details over her work using a variety of colored threads. This creates a painterly look to the piece that's a combination of meticulous technique and gestural, emotive marks.

Massive Swan Pencil Illustration Hangs 7 Feet Wide

Beijing-based illustrator Alice Lin creates beautiful illustrations filled with rich, strikingly crisp details. One of her recent works, Faramita, features a giant swan with large fluttering wings spread wide. The artist used only pencil on Canson drawing paper to create the elaborate illustration, which hangs almost 7 feet wide by 3.5 feet tall and took approximately one month to complete.

Clever Jeep Ad Campaign Filled with Surprising Illustrations

Creative agency Leo Burnett France had to put an incredible amount of forethought into each one of these illustrations for the new Jeep ad campaign: See whatever you want to see. Each right-side up design features a single animal set against a textured background. However, turn the image upside-down and a second creature reveals itself in the lines, curves, and shadows of the original shape.

Ruinart Champagne Presents Georgia Russell’s Cutting-Edge Works at Art Basel 2014

At this year's Art Basel, the world's oldest champagne house, Ruinart, will present two stunning works by artist Georgia Russell, previously featured here. The first piece, created for Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, is a gorgeous white, lattice-like ornament that reveals golden glints of the Chardonnay. The artist found inspiration for this during her visit to the champagne house's chalk cellars. To her, the breathtaking textured walls appeared like three-dimensional drawings.
