Costa Rica’s Self-Sustaining Tree House Community

Nestled into a 600 acre plot in the rain forests of Costa Rica, Finca Bellavista is a pioneering, off-the-grid, self-sustaining tree house community. Founded by couple Erica and Matt Hogan back in 2006 as a way to save a large portion of rainforest, Finca Bellavista has transformed into an ever growing commune with 27 separate tree house style structures and more planned for construction.

Beautiful Swiss Architecture Echoes Its Natural Landscape

Swiss architect Mario Botta designed a spectacular site known as Berg Oase whose structure brilliantly simulates its mountainous surroundings. Located at the base of the mountains in Arosa, Switzerland, the complementing architecture both echoes the landscape's natural motifs and adds flair to the environment. The visually impactful structures in Botta's design gain the attention of visitors while respecting the surrounding village by incorporating the natural visual elements of trees, mountains, and leaves.

Fashionable Cuff Bracelets Embossed With Subway Maps

These fashionable cut off bracelets are not only trendy, but they are functional, too. The silver cuffs are part of the Metro Cuff Series designed by Tiffany Burnette, owner of product design company Designhype. The bracelets are made out of stainless steel, and the lines and text of each map are actually embossed into the metal with various colors like red, black, blue, and even light violet.

France-based graphic designer Outmane Amahou created this clever series as a way to visually document the history of art in a unique set of minimalist posters. The series, entitled Minimalist Art Movement Posters, features single shapes and solid blocks of color to portray the Renaissance, Expressionism, Surrealism, Dadaism, and Abstract art, to name a few. Each object is an iconic representation of a famous artist from that time period.
